What an eSIM is
A SIM built into your phone at the factory. Instead of buying a plastic SIM and swapping trays, you scan a QR code and the plan loads onto the phone itself.
It adds a second, data-only line. Your usual number stays live for calls and messages, so nobody loses you while you are away.
How buying here works
- Pick your destination and a plan.
- Pay by card — prices are in your currency, and the figure you see is the one charged.
- The eSIM arrives by email and appears in your account, usually within a minute.
- Scan the code — ideally before you travel, while you still have internet.
The awkward parts, said plainly
- An eSIM installs once. Delete it from the phone and it is gone — it is not replaced, even with data left on it.
- Validity starts at first connection, not at purchase. That is in your favour, but plenty of people assume the opposite.
- Speed and coverage depend on the local network where you are, which is outside our control.
- Not every device supports eSIM. Dial *#06# and look for an EID before you pay.
